I took this photograph in the Little Art Gallery in the neighborhood around Downtown Mountain View. It is a big glass box where people from the community can add or take pieces of art. Because of the nature of this exchange, the objects inside this gallery are from an anonymous origin. It is interesting how anonymous art is often made so that the viewer focuses on building a personal relationship and perspective with the piece, yet I found that my curiosity led me beyond the art into the artist. Did they intend to arrange the objects in this “spilled” manner or was that just a result of dropping them in? Did they purposefully add the plastic bag? Did they make the keychains themselves, for what purpose?

I added a red photo filter, black and white strokes on an overlay layer, and a multiply layer in Photoshop to drown out the background and emphasize the subject.
