Picture of Wooden cutout
Shutter Speed: 1/16 Aperture: 5.6 White Balance: Sunny ISO: 3200 (Edited a bit in Photoshop)

These wood parts were scraps that my Digital Media Teacher left out from a laser cut wood project he was making. One would never realize that they could be called “trash” because they are such cleanly cut and pretty shapes. But they were still unneeded and unwanted. One of my goals was to take a photo conveying a medley of abandonment, mystery, loneliness. I mostly wanted to experiment with this reflective tape that I have to see if I could come up with an interesting composition. While I was trying out different layouts, I accidentally reflected something and the tape distorted it, making an interesting almost smoke-like effect. The only thing I would do differently is arrange the small pieces in a more interesting or maybe chaotic way to add dramatic effect.
