I was taking pictures of my family’s ofrenda (altar) for Day of the Dead, and I found this piece of papel picado that I thought represented us very well: It’s always really been me and my two parents, because my extended family is all in Mexico, but we are still made up of our culture, and we’re not alone even if we feel we are.
