Photo Blog #9-White Balance

I really like the contrast between the glowy light at the bottom and the thick darkness at the top. For some reason, the tangling branches remind me of some kind of thick forest from a fairy tale. I set the White Balance to a warmer setting so it could get this sepia-like look. It looks a bit intimidating as well with the dark branches at the top. I had been experimenting with various angles to make sure the bright sun didn’t make my photos overexposed, but none of the shots I had taken I had especially liked. I find that it can get a bit complicated to control the composition when there are many objects around it. But as soon as I saw this picture I knew that I had done something right.

Below is a second version, with the White Balance set to Tungsten. It has a bit of a darker, more sinister feeling to it.
