Our narrative unit project in English was the world building story treatment and presentation. This project entailed creating a story within a creative and unique world of our making. My partner Justin and I created the world of Earthfall. The log line goes something like this: “After a mass evacuation of Earth, the lucky few survivors land on a tropical planet named Earthfall, where they split into waring factions”. To start the unit, we read the story Parable of the Sower in preparation to create our worlds. Once we had brainstormed ideas and partnered up, we wrote out our story treatments. We then connected our stories and themes to current real world events, writing research essays, followed by the final presentation.
Our world building unit in English led us to the final presentation of pitching out stories to an audience. We dressed up, and pitched a professional presentation with visuals to the class of potential investors, giving the narrative treatment and details of our story and the world it resides in.
