{ Take a picture that tells who you are without actually showing your face. }

wall of pictures, objects, posters and mementoes with the back of my head in the foreground
Gallery wall of found objects in my bedroom

This assignment was to take a self-portrait without your face in it. To represent who I am, I chose to photograph one of my bedroom walls, a gallery of objects I’ve collected from around the world and that are mementoes of my favorite places and best memories, something I feel that encapsulates who I am. I gain my inspiration from the places I’ve traveled to and the different places I’ve lived, the objects on my wall, ranging from ceramics from Portugal to Egyptian camel bells to my favorite childhood books, all represent who I am and the different parts that make me who I am.

The choice of camera angle was intentional in this photograph, as well as the lighting and camera settings of the camera. I wanted this photo to read like someone just behind me getting a glance into my life. This is represented in the back of my head in the foreground and the low angle camera position.
