The prompt for this photo blog was to “find inspiration in heaviness or lightness.” I had several ideas for this prompt, but they all seemed generic, like feathers and weights. So, I decided to go on a walk at a local park to look for inspiration. I found a clump of tall weeds that looked like they were having a rough time of it. The flowers, if you could call them that, all hung low towards the ground, stems bent and broken in several places. Both the weight of the bulbs and the effects of environmental variables on the dead-looking plants struck me as having a lot of “heaviness.” Almost like they were barely able to carry the weight of surviving in an unforgiving world.
