Work

Posted on January 28, 2021February 4, 2021 by x

Boiler suits or jumpsuits have always been an interest of mine when it comes to fashion. I’ve always wanted to own one, and the aesthetic of quickly changing into a single piece of clothing that is simple, yet stylish is really cool to me. One time, I was working backstage on a youth theatre production and I noticed my friend, a member of the cast, was wearing an adorable light purple jumpsuit. I asked her where she had gotten it and she gave me the name of a well-known over-priced boutique. I laughed and said that I definitely couldn’t afford spending so much money on one statement piece. Her response shocked me a little bit: “Just ask your parents to pay for it! That’s what I did!”

About 3 months later, I found a pink boiler suit on sale for $15. It’s been one of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe since I found it. There’s probably a metaphor you could find in there somewhere. to do with the nature of work.
