Sam
One of my fondest memories from this year was working on One Sam Band, the name of Amanda Jernigan and Aya Iwata’s narrative film project, in which I played the titular character. The film is based around a struggling band leader, which naturally meant that there was plenty of music involved in the film’s production. On set, being surrounded by so many musical instruments, as well as actual musicians, was like a window into another world. I am not very musically literate, so it was jarring at first to get into a role like this, but I learned to appreciate the passion people have for the craft.
