Self-Potrait

For one of our assignments, we were challenged to create a “Self Portrait” Which represents ourselves minus us. I struggled to pick a concisely designed and well-made photo for mine, however, I ended up setting myself to take a photo from writing of some kindThere are a few reasons why. I myself am a writer who has consistently written stories for three years now and love the practice, as it is one of the oldest and best forms of artistic creation humanity has made. However, since I wanted to create something a bit more detailed and dynamically shot instead went with a book photo.

I fully committed to this by getting a photo of one of my favorite stories: The Iliad, and the Odyssey. both of these stories helped, in my early year of writing, to develop and build upon my skills. On top of this, I have written a script based on the events of the Iliad and created my own original stories in a similar vein– as similar as could be in comparison to what I believe to be one of if not the most influential single story in culture. Due to all of these factors, I made this my self-portrait.
