The Humor Project is an English class based assignment. We studied many different comedians and humor styles, including the novel Slaughterhouse Five that was a big study for this semester. I valued the entire project because it was pretty unconventional and fun to do. I have always found humor to be a big part of my personality, whether that be with my friends, family, or even people I dont know. Humor has served as a way for me to bond with my peers and make connections with people I don’t know.

Analysis of Two Humorists

Alex Consani:
Alex Consani is a Gen Z model and internet personality known for her surreal, chaotic, and hyper-self-aware humor that is most popular on TikTok and other social media apps. Her comic style is very absurd, which often parodies influencer culture, fashion culture, and social media. Her deadpan delivery, edits, and use of wacky phrasing make her content feel like a fever dream and very abnormal- equal parts disorienting and hilarious. She often uses exaggerated characters or distorted facial expressions to poke fun at online personas.

Quen Blackwell:
Quen Blackwell rose to prominence on Vine and later TikTok with her loud, unfiltered, and emotionally explosive videos that feel like watching someone spiral in real-time but in the most comedic way possible. Her humor is extremely expressive and emotional, often turning personal meltdowns into performance. What sets Quen apart is her authenticity when she creates comedy by exaggerating real reactions, turning vulnerability into absurd theater. Her comedic timing, willingness to look ridiculous, and unpredictability are central to her appeal.

Reflection on What’s Most Useful About These Humorists

The most useful aspect of both Alex and Quen’s comedic styles is how they break traditional structure—they don’t rely on formal set-ups and punchlines. Instead, they use tone, delivery, and emotional exaggeration to make even basic content hilarious.

Their work shows that online comedy can be performative without being polished- immediacy, chaos, and identity are tools, not obstacles.

Description of Chosen Project

For my project, I think that Mia and I wanted to make something that was like Italian Brainrot, kind of making fun of our generation and the way that we find the most absurd things funny.
