Music Recording

For this project, Mia and I decided to record our friend Kendyll because she’s apart of the MVHS Madrigals and was excited to be recorded! She ended up bringing four other people and they sounded great together.

Here are our musicians! From left to right we have: Ella, Kendyll, Connor, and Kasey

musician bios:

Kendyll is a senior at MVHS who is a tenor. She contributed harmonies and a solo line to the song.

Kasey is a junior at MVHS who is a bass. He led the chorus and added lower harmonies.

Connor is a senior at MVHS who is a bass. He provided strong foundation vocals and helped with vocal arrangement.

Ella is a sophomore at MVHS who is an alto. She added layered harmonies and supported the second verse.

Jordan is a senior at MVHS who is a tenor. He contributed background vocals and helped with dynamic build-ups.

Maya is a junior at MVHS who is a mezzo-soprano. She added texture to the bridge and sang in the final chorus.

Artist Statement:

For the music recording project, we worked with a group of lovely Madrigals who came in to record multiple songs that they loved! They ended up doing this song just because they had extra time but it ended up being their best take in my opinion. We had to play around a lot with the volume for each microphone because the deeper voices seemed more overpowering.

Personal Reflection:

I loved how hands-on and collaborative this project was. When we actually got into the studio you could really feel how passionate they were about it and they got more excited about it as it went on. The studio was also so awesome and such a cool tool we are given here at Freestyle!
