Narrative Visual Perspective in Design
For almost all projects we do in Design, we first create an moodboard to visualize our color scheme, fonts, and peices that inspire us for that specific project. For most of these design peices, the first item presented will be my mood board.
Cursive Name Art
For the cursive name art project, we first wrote out names in cursive on adobe illustrator, and then mirrored it to create a more abstract shape. We then created drawings inside of these abstract shapes, printed that out on watercolor paper, and added colors. I loved this project because it was something hands-on, which is super engaging and unique!

Product Logo
Mood board:

In my logo/products, I took inspiration from Jiji, the Kiki’s Delivery Service movie by Studio Ghibli. I wanted to interpret the character in a way that related it to a coffee brand, so I put it in a coffee cup. I wanted to use some of my original ideas, so I used the lace aspect from my mood board. After deciding on using a black cat for the logo, I renamed the brand to Midnight Coffee Co. which gave me the idea to incorporate stars into my design. I also chose to use bright colors to make the design eye-catching. I like the purple-y and pinky colors for most of it, with the pop of green as a contrasting color to make it more interesting. I had the lace frame to separate the cat from the background, and I added the bow to the frame for an added 3D effect.
For my product design, I originally wanted to make a product that had a lot of colors and was a coffee brand. My mood board had a lot of flowers on it, and I was going to call my company “Bean and Brew”. I had an original Idea to have a coffee cup with a bunch of flowers coming out of it, but after multiple attempts at it, I just decided that it wasn’t going to work out the way I envisioned it. I also tried making a design with a deck of cards and scrapping that. Overall, my biggest problem with this project was simply getting the execution of my ideas to work. I have a black cat, so I wanted to model it off of it. After I finally got my logo to work, I then had some trouble deciding what other objects to work with. I like the mug idea because it is realistic to a coffee brand, like Starbucks. I also like the business card that I ended up with because instead of simply slapping my logo onto a bag or hat, I actually re-designed my content to work well with a business card. Overall, after many rounds of brainstorming, I finished up really happy with my project.

Product Label
We then turned the logos we made into a label for a certain product based on the dimensions. This label was made for a bag of coffee beans.

Product Triptych
For our product triptych, we had to create three items total for our brand and place them on a triptych, another way to display them all togehter, commonly used in marketing for a brand.

In the end, i decided to make a mug, the coffee beans, and business cards for a small coffee shop!
Movie Poster
In my story, Circadian follows a young girl, Isa, in a dystopian world where citizens are monitored 24/7 by a totalitarian system that controls their daily rhythms. She begings to have strange visions, leading to an outside world. The poster scene shows Isa staring up at one of her visions, realizing she might be the key to breaking the cycle.
I created the poster using Adobe Photoshop. I used layer masks for blending, posterized effects for the stylized red-blue double, and text tools for titles and credits. The surveillance camera was added using perspective tools and shadowing.
I learned how to visually convey genre and tone through color and composition. This process helped me grow in digital editing skills and reinforced the importance of visual storytelling in building a narrative world.

Book Jacket
The next project we did for the worldbuilding project was to create a book cover for our story. I liked this project because we did it on Adobe Indesign which is something that we dont often use in Freestyle but I feel like it’s very important to know. I really liked how this turned out.
