CENTER FRAME PORTRAIT

1/64 f6.3 ISO100

In most of my photos, I use the rule of thirds to arrange the subjects in my photo. So when I heard that we had to take a center frame photo for this weeks assignment, I was a bit surprised. I thought that without the rule of thirds, the composition would look off. However, center frame composition worked well with this photo. Because some parts of the background were asymmetrical, having a center frame subject helped balance the overall photo. I believe this photo conveys loneliness because of the setting of the photo. The subject is sitting down on a bench in a communal area. However, despite the it being a place where people socialize, she is sitting all alone.

In photoshop, I used a multiply layer to fix the harsh lighting in the photo and adjusted the saturation to make the photo less dull.
