Showcase

Hey! My Name is Milo, and I am a film student at Freestyle Academy. This is a little bit of my work from freestyle film which has changed my perspective on moviemaking as a whole. I’ve learned tons of skills and found an amazing creative outlet through film. I plan on containing my education at Cal Poly SLO, next year and studying about the experience industry.

Reel

My reel features a lot of my favorite film shots I’ve gotten over the years and work that has shown up in many of my movies. I’ve had so many opportunities to “create” at freestyle and these are some of the cool shots I’ve achieved.

Showcase Video

In my showcase video I am presenting my JR year documentary which was one of the turning points in my movie-making career. This documentary taught me so much about myself, those around me, and the process as a whole, of making a film. I don’t want to spoil too much though so here’s the showcase…

Reflection

From making my Reel And showcase Video, it puts into perspective how much I’ve really done. I have gained a lot of skills throughout the process, one of the big ones being teamwork. I realize that big projects such as these have a process that you must trust and follow. A big part of this process being working with others. No film gets made all alone. I mean, how can one person record, act and get sound? Exactly, you cant. I have always been pretty good at working in a group, however, a long film like this has many ups and downs. I’ve argued with my partners, had different visions, and conflicting interests. Even though it’s a struggle, the reward is so worth it. I’ve learned to set aside what “I want” and always acknowledge others’ ideas. I’ve learned that the work you put in WILL show. And most of all Not only have I made films, but I’ve made memories.
