milo rathbun – inspiration Since there has been so much beautiful rain recently I thought It would be the perfect inspiration for this photo blog. In this shoot, I wanted to use the reflection of light and water to create a cool-looking effect. I found this table with a Chinese noodle house in the background. The neon lights of the restaurant almost reminded me of a movie scene and I wanted to capture this emotion. The mixture of red and … Continue reading “Photo blog #39: The Elements”
Photo Blog #36: Graditude
milo rathbun – inspiration In this photo, I wanted to capture two things in my life that I am very grateful for. Firstly, My red 1993 Honda Del Sol. This car has been with me through thick and thin and the memories I’ve made with it contribute largely to the man I am today. It’s brought me closer to my father, friends, and helped me make new connections with people through a common love for “machines”. Secondly, I’m grateful for … Continue reading “Photo Blog #36: Graditude”
Photo Blog #33: Who Inspires You
milo rathbun – inspiration My father has always been my biggest inspiration throughout my life. His curiosity and love for this planet has brought him amazing experiences which I’m lucky enough to have shared a part in. I feel this picture does a good job of capturing his spirit for adventure while immersed in nature. In this specific photo, we were on a road trip in my Honda Del Sol on the way to northern California. We stopped by the … Continue reading “Photo Blog #33: Who Inspires You”
Photo Blog #30: Your Habits
milo rathbun – inspiration In this photo, I wanted to share one of my bad habits. I find that I procrastinate in some rather odd aspects of my life. One of these being haircuts. In this photo I wanted to capture a classic barber sign while adding a little bit of depth and personality to the photo. I took it at an angle to separate the sign from the background and contrast the colorful sign, with the eerie green background. … Continue reading “Photo Blog #30: Your Habits”

Photo Blog #24: Tell a Lie
Milo Rathbun – Inspiration In this photo, I took the task very literally and thought of ways I could make the camera lie. I came up with an idea in which I would be showing one thing but have a deeper meaning. To do this I got my subject and made them face away from me while I took a picture. I positioned him in front of a mirror so that the viewer is given a whole new level of … Continue reading “Photo Blog #24: Tell a Lie”
Photo Blog #21: Serenity
milo Rathbun – inspiration In this photo, I was tasked with capturing serenity. For me, some of the most peaceful places are the ocean and my room. I chose to capture a corner of my room that I feel so safe and cozy in so that it really expressed my serenity.
Photo Blog #18: #NoFilter
milo rathbun – inspiration In this photo, I tried to capture the feeling of looking up at the complex branches and leaves of a tree. To make it more personally realistic I took it in my convertible car because I find myself always looking up at the complex branches while driving.
Photo Blog #15: Anonymous
Milo Rathbun – inspiration In this photoblog my inspiration was anonymous so I decided to use an object as my main subject. I chose sunglasses as my object because they are used to hide people’s eyes which is a key factor in identity. I feel as though by placing it in an area covered by leaves I created this sort of hidden environment where the subject is truly conveying a message of being anonymous.
Photo Blog #9: White Balance
Milo Rathbun – inspiration I love myself, as well as the white balance in this photo. (I am inspired by myself)
