For this assignment, I was meant to take a picture that would represent an abstract self portrait. I used bright light coming into my room between my curtains in order to create a slash through my wrist. I consider myself to be a generally creative person, as my favorite thing to do is draw and I also have been doing photography for fun ever since seventh grade. My hand represents my creative side; however, here I photographed my left hand. I am a dominant right, and I did this in tandem with the light on my wrist to show my uncertainty towards the future I have set myself into. Recently it has felt like my interest in arts may be the downfall of me and could doom my chances of finding jobs and making money. My art is not outstanding for my age or in general, and perhaps merging this part of myself so deeply into my self worth was a mistake. I have no other talents to fall back on, so I am left with myself and a couple of sketchbooks.
