Narrative Visual Perspective In Film

Film this unit has definitely been a rollercoaster of a journey. I started off strong by creating several short videos in preparation for our senior narrative, which I think are pretty good. They were low-stakes and just a lot of fun to make. For the one minute movie, we were tasked with storyboarding, shooting, and editing a movie, but with a twist. Each phase of the process, we would give our work to another group and receive someone else’s project to continue working on.

Next, we worked on our one period movies, which I think is pretty self explanatory.

To learn how light scenes in different ways, we were tasked with following a scavenger hunt style list to complete shots that showcased different types of lighting.

Lastly, we wrapped up our preparation with a dialogue scene, where we put our newly learned production skills to the test.

Overall, the narrative unit has been a mix of difficult and fun. Unfortunately, as I write this, my partner and I are not yet done with our senior narrative project. 5/22/23 Update: We still ain’t done.
