Let me tell you about this kombucha. For one, this kombucha is generally an amazing drink. You can look at it, store it, and drink it. Not only is it an incredibly practical beverage, but it also carries with it a fascinating history. The unique flavor of this particular kombucha comes from an ancient scoby that originates in Jaipur, India. In its infant years, the local children would gather around the scoby during the transition from winter to spring and pray for good harvest. While doing so, they would groom themselves, shedding all their hair for the warm months ahead, hence its name “”Jaghan skobee” or “Pubic scoby” in English. Because of its age, there is also much mystery surrounding the magnificent bacteria. It is said that if you take a sip and swish it around in your mouth three times, you can taste the delicately sweet tears of Mahatma Gandhi. While in the captivity of the British, lore says that Ghandi broke his fast after being offered a taste of the awesome Jaghan skobee’s juice. Craving its ephemeral taste, Ghandi then set out on his famous salt march in search of the great Jaghan skobbe. Knowing its history, it’s safe to say that ready access to this kombucha is a modern convience.
