Introduction
This is a project we worked on exclusively in English while working on our Zenith project in elective classes. Throughout this unit, we read and analyzed Kurt Vonnegut’s Slaughterhouse-5, a satirical anti-war novel. Then, we chose our own humorous piece of media to analyze, finding the deeper, underlying message that lay beneath the comedy. Using our chosen work was inspiration, we created our own piece of humorous work.
Proposal
After analyzing a short film by Aardman Animations, I decided I wanted to do some form of a short humorous animation. Me and my friend, Cade, decided to collaborate on a quick stop motion animation. The entire piece is an anecdote, with comedy techniques like slapstick humor, triviality, and jokes while just being overall silly thanks to the choppiness of the animation and strange characters we used.
The characters we used were some of me and Cade’s little guys, Pool (left) and Bum Bum (right)

Final Humor Project
Though we struggled a little to finish by the deadline, I’m proud of the final animation. There was a lot of teamwork that had to go into animating. While on person puppeteered the characters and props, the other took the photos. We also made quote the mess, working with water, gatorade, strawberries, and gelatin to create our scenes. Still, everything worked out okay and I’m very happy with the final animation. It was a lot of fun to experiment with stop motion after such a long time and combine it with the humor techniques we learned in English.
