Future

Next week, I graduate high school. Next year, I’m headed off to college. A year ago, college was something that terrified me. Since then, I’ve had a lot of positive experiences happen to me: I solidified my passion for writing, found myself while attending a summer program, and got into college. Now, the idea of going away isn’t so scary. What scares me the most is forgetting how I got there. Though high school was rough, there are still parts and people from it who mean the world to me and who helped me discover everything I know about myself. Knowing we might drift, and my memories of the past four years will fade, scares me. Despite this fear, I keep telling myself that I have so much in my future to look forward to. I just have to remember:

“No love, however brief, is wasted.”
