About Me

Aidan Thurber

“All we have to decide is what to do with the time given to us”- J.R.R Tolkien

Hello there! My name is Aidan Thurber. I am an aspiring voice/physical actor, 3D sculptor, stop motion animation enthusiast, and MV Speech and Debate varsity team member. I enjoy playing video games, running DND games, and windsurfing in my free time, as well as helping my dad with his law office business. I attended Mt. View High School and took advantage of Freestyle Academy. I have a background as a Film assistant to KMVT Tv Station, coordinating and teaching kids how to use professional-grade audio, camera, sound, and lighting equipment, and teaching kids to stop motion clay animation. My values are very simple, I believe that if you do anything in life, whether it be a job or hobby, you must want to improve in it, for it, and because of it. I value people who are humorous and I can have laughs with, but also be extremely caring and understanding; Understanding over judgment. So far with my Freestyle experience, I’m learning a lot and using a lot of equipment I thought I would never get access to such as Wacom Drawing tablets, DSLR Cameras, and using a website engine to create my own site. I was very excited to be in freestyle, as we got to cover a wide variety of creative subjects and integrate them with preparation for those very jobs and careers. Go MV Spartans!

6/5/2021: When I first started off the year in Freestyle, I didn’t know what to expect. There are a lot of programs you can sign up for where you learn some janky programs that almost no one uses. That was not the case. I’m sitting here now having experience with some of the top professional programs that artists use every day and with knowledge on how to use them best. I am absolutely astonished at how far I’ve come by learning so many programs and exploring so many different creative outlets. It’s incredible that only a year ago I didn’t even understand how to use Adobe Photoshop, but now I have experience with 7 different adobe products. It’s been an incredible ride and learning experience.
