For this portion of the year, we delved into our psyche for inspiration as we explored a ton of new creative avenues with an emphasis on Perspective and Creativity. We focused on using our cameras’ settings to give pictures depth in our photo blogs, and throughout every class found a way to widen our perspective on our own art. English brought in Lyrical Essays, a blend of poem and figurative language with a dash of an argumentative informative style we’d practiced in previous English years. Digital Media taught us how to give 2D art a whole new plane of existence through Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, and Illustrator. We learned how to manipulate that plane, giving light, color, movement, and depth to any image we could. Animation class saw us going from hand-drawn art to more advanced 3D art. We created characters and then brought them to life with the tools we learned throughout the programs the course took us through. If the Narrative 2 Unit could be described in a single sentence; it would be “A Whole New Perspective”.
