For this photo blog, I used Chinese Lunar New Year red envelopes which are used to give to family members and friends for good luck, and the red square in the center is chun lian (春聯) which is used to ward off evil spirits. I created balance in the photo by having the 4 envelopes symmetrically align with the sides of the chun lian. To make this photo, I took a long time finding the right position to center this piece, and overall it turned out well balanced.
