Hey, welcome to my website! My name is Alec Chechik and I was a Freestyle Academy student from 2019-2021, after moving from Brazil to the U.S. in 2018. Studying in this country had always been on my mind, but I had never thought it would happen so fast! I took classes in Animation, Digital Media, and English. I’ve passionate about art for a long time, especially forms of storytelling, and have looked forward to expanding my creative possibilities. My favorite part of Freestyle was the focus on leaving your comfort zone and exploring new media. As a student, I valued learning how to use both critical and creative skills to bring personal projects to life while having fun along the way!
Freestyle was where I made true connections and explored different pathways as a digital artist. It is the closest I have to a second home and I’ll forever bring my experiences wherever I go. I don’t know how I would’ve survived my high school life without this community.
