Documentary Unit

Introduction

The Documentary Unit encourages students to develop their digital skills through portraying an intriguing person, group, place, idea, or issue, gathering primary and secondary research sources to develop a distinct perspective about their subject’s significance in the community and/or world. This unit emphasizes narrative-style journalism.

I valued the research I had to do to expand my topic and make it interesting. I learned a lot on how to properly write a paper with interviews, how to interview, and how to research.

Documentary Project

My specific documentary project is based around video games– and the many misconceptions people have about them. My inspiration was quite simple really, I play video games and wanted to talk about the benefits they have that other people who don’t play video games might not know about.

Documentary Paper

As a part of our Documentary project, we were tasked with writing a paper on the topic we chose. We had to cite interviews, secondary sources, and provide our own perspective to effectively convey our topic.
