I came across this dumpster full of old desks and chairs outside of my Forensics class on Friday and knew I wouldn’t have to worry about this week’s photo challenge prompt: this image, I feel, captures it perfectly. As we get older and move on to new projects and interests, we often forget that we have to leave the things from our childhoods behind. As I looked at the old rusted desks and chairs tossed into the dumpster, I was reminded of elementary school and was soon flooded with memories from that time. I didn’t even realize it, but somewhere along the line I had left behind the kid in the Ugg boots and Stanford sweater, and traded them out for a older, more serious version of myself. It was a weird thing to think about.
