Yes, I did use my Author photo as my final photo challenge. Let me explain: at the beginning of this year, I was unsure of my creative vision. I doubted that I could stay afloat in the world of Freestyle since I had never worked in graphic design or film before. I’d heard horror stories about the workload, the harsh grading, etc. To be honest, I thought I’d drop out before the end of the first semester.
I’ve learned so much over the course of my time at Freestyle. I never expected to be able to run sound, create 2 (count them, 2!) short films, as well as a variety of graphics and creations using InDesign, Photoshop, AfterEffects, and more. I’m so incredibly proud of how far I’ve come during this year, both in terms of skills and in terms of creativity. I’ve discovered new passions and I’m excited to start the next year. This is an “exit”: an exit from my past self-doubt. It’s also an entrance into the new school year, with new opportunities and skills!
