I’ve been taking a lot more walks recently since it’s hard to get regular exercise with the shelter-in-place. As such, I’ve seen a lot of my neighbors walking around with their kids or playing basketball in their front yards. I knew that this would be a good subject for this week’s photo challenge, but I felt uncomfortable just taking a photo of a stranger. I didn’t know what to do exactly, so I took a walk without headphones in to just listen to the sounds of my neighborhood. I was inspired by this walk and took a picture of the sunset over one of my neighbor’s houses to represent it. It was like a scene out of Rear Window: dogs barking, a baby crying in the distance, someone playing music out an open window, all while the sun set over joggers and families on walks. That’s the story of a stranger that I want to tell: the story of my neighborhood.
