Trick Photography

This week we were challenged to use props to create a trick image. I used a ziploc bag sprinkled with water to create a dreamy/out of it effect. I was going for the look in movies when people just wake up after being knocked out and everything is blurry and distorted.

Staged Photo

This week we were challenged to take a photo using a creative staged background. I used a rock in my backyard and a tiny cat to give the illusion that the cat was on a mountain. Blurring the background helped make the illusion more realistic and give it additional depth.

Film Still Shot

This week we were challenged to take a photo that looks like a film still-shot. I read this article about how one of the main aspects of film is color. I decided to try and use parchment paper and take a picture through it to give it a golden glow and a film-y look. Once …

For this week’s challenge we were encouraged to “fill the frame” of a picture with one color. I absolutely love the color of this comforter, so I chose to photograph it. I tried to photograph it in my room, but the colors were not showing through the way I wanted them to, so I brought …

Facial Symmetry

For this week’s challenge we were encouraged to take a portrait and use photoshop see what the person would look like if they were exactly symmetrical. Like this article: https://time.com/2848303/heres-what-faces-would-look-like-if-they-were-perfectly-symmetrical/ I found that the thing that I lost most when making my dad symmetrical was the depth and personality in his eyes. I think that …

Geometry

This week we were challenged to use Geometry in our photo so I stole my sister’s textbook. I also made the picture into a square because I felt like it reflected the theme well. My favorite part about taking the images I did was taking them with lots of different depths of fields and deciding …
