    Rule of Thirds Emotion

This weeks photo challenge was to use the rule of thirds to capture the feeling of emotion. I loved this one as it was a bit of a challenge. I decided to photograph my bath bomb slowly fizzing out with an aura of different colors. I think this image honestly portrays a lot of emotion as it is colorful which makes you happy, and it is a bath bomb and baths are super relaxing and I mean I can almost smell the bath bomb just from the image! I made sure the colors were more vibrant in photoshop and make the background darker so that it is as if it…

    Color without Color

This weeks photo challenge was to tell a story through a photograph, but without color. For my image having no color actually fit very well, as the skies were cloudy. I think this tells the story of the sky in a way as it is cloudy and dark and kinda sad. I chose to also include the telephone poles and wires to help one better perceive the photo as the sky is endless. The telephone pole stabilizes that thought. I chose to take this at an upward angle with me down on the street as I thought it added a more interesting story and perspective to look at.

    Who Inspires You

This weeks photo challenge was to take a picture of someone who inspires you. I chose to take this picture of Amara Lin, a fellow freestyle student and also my best friend. Amara and I have been through thick and thin together, but despite it all, we have become stronger and closer then ever. Amara inspires me every single day to be the best version of me. Artistically, Amara inspires and most definitely challenges me. She inspires me out of pure love and in every action she makes she is not only helping but inspiring others as well. I am more then blessed to have her in my life to…

    Fill the Frame

This weeks photo challenge was to fill the frame of the photograph completely, the frame is basically just the ends of the photo. One of the methods in the link that we got was to have two main colors keep it simple, and to also have your subject take up the most space. Obviously the red of the rose pops the most whereas the green leaves blend into the green and brown background. As well, the flower is in center and it is focused whereas the background is more blurred.

    Friends and Family

This weeks photo challenge was to tell the story of a friend or family member in a picture. Here is one of my friends, Eddie, I walk him and his sister Judy every day. I chose to use this picture of Eddie as this is what I would say best describes him, it is his favorite thing to do, and he will do it on anyone. Usually he likes to chew his ball on my foot but in this picture he was on my leg, making it easier to get a good picture of his cute face! Eddie is super friendly and loving, but that ball, oh I think he…

    Habits

This epic panoramic photo represents my habits as I love the outdoors, especially in Discovery Bay. With COVID this summer was “ruined” for most and even though I felt that way at the beginning i realized how lucky I was to have another family home in Discovery Bay. I spent almost the whole summer there and was even able to have a few friends up there once we were all tested negative before. The sunsets are out of this world as you can see. I spend every single night watching the whole thing and taking photos with my camera. My habit is seeing and picturing the beauty of nature and…

    Facial Symmetry

I ended up choosing the left side of my face that I like better when reflected. It was really fun this week to complete this challenge. We had to take a picture of our face and then reflect each side over so you could see how symmetric, or not, your face is. I found both sides of my face are definitely NOT symmetric, but with some fun photoshop editing I was able to make a symmetric face. I referred to them as my left face and my right face, since my left eyebrow is higher and my skin is clearer it was a pretty easy choice for me!

    My Culture

I chose to represent my culture by this photo of me outside on the grass in Foothills Park. This is a park super close to my house that is just beautiful. I love going there to spend time outside with fresh air and feel the sunshine on my skin. I always end up taking millions of photos there because it is just so pretty and has such amazing light. This represents my culture because I like to spend time outside and bond with my friends. This picture embodies that as well as the amazing color and light shown through the leaves.

    Exit

This week we had a photo challenge to be inspired by exits. “Every exit is an entry to somewhere else” was the quote we were given to help us find direction. After reading that quote I knew exactly what picture I would use. This picture is from the past weekend, we were celebrating my brothers 22nd birthday, and my mom pointed out the sky. When I looked up I felt like I saw the gates to heaven right there in the sky and so that is the exit in this picture. Some have different beliefs and personally I am not religious but I do believe our souls go up. I…

    Geometry

Geometry and shapes are found everywhere we look in this world. From the rectangle of our computers to the circle of our kitchen tables. This weeks photo challenge was to incorporate geometry into our photos. I chose to take this picture of the bottom of one of our outside seating chairs to show geometry. As you can see we have a repeating triangle-ish shape and it is repeating in a circle so two elements of geometry there. I thought this was interesting and a little less basic then just having a standard shape. As well I thought it was interesting to see and notice how an artist or designer can…
