The prompt for this photo was “exit”, and some additional inspiration prompting us to think about exits that are also entrances. When I thought about this, I had the idea to photograph something that was not specifically an entrance or exit, but rather an opening. I walked around for a while an eventually found this gazebo, that had openings for people to either come in or come out. I think this explores the concept interestingly because gazebo’s aren’t really places with a specific function. Just as people can come in or out as they please, the actual activity going on inside the gazebo is pretty unrestricted. After taking the photo, I edited it in Photoshop to place emphasis on the opening. I did so using tilt-shift and by creating a vignette effect.
