Small vs. Large

A landscape photograph of colored pencils on a dark wood table. On the left side of the image, 12 miniature colored pencils are arranged in a somewhat disorganized manner. On the right side of the image are 12 regular-sized colored pencils, arranged in a similar fashion. The colors of the large pencils match the colors of the small pencils

The prompt for this photograph was “Small vs. Large”. I have always loved miniatures, so I knew I wanted to take a photograph that featured a miniature and normal sized version of something. I looked around for a bit, and found a set of tiny colored pencils that I had bought when I was a kid. I picked out matching colors from a set of normal colored pencils that I owned, and arranged the two sets in various ways. I really like the composition of this one the best in the way that the pencils are coming out from the corners of the photograph. After taking the photo, I used Photoshop to make some small adjustments. I mostly brightened it up a but and made the colors slightly more saturated. I also applied a slight iris blur to accentuate the field of view effect that the photo already had.
