White balance

For this photo, we were asked to experiment with the white balance setting to produce images that aren’t necesarrily color-accurate. I had never used the white balance setting before, so I started by flipping through the different settings to see what they did. This sucullent in a cat planter was my subject. I wanted to find white balances that produced a dramatic effect, so that I would know which ones to employ if I ever need very warm or cool light in a future photo. The photo on the left was taken with the white balance setting “Tungsten light” which gave the photo very cool colors. The photo on the right was taken with the white balance setting “Shadow” and has very warm colors.
