This personal Mandala project is probably one of the most beautiful and unique projects in Digital Media. Using Adobe Illustrator, we created multiple mandala templates of various sizes. We also had the chance to practice and play around before making our final ones.What makes all of this so special is that we used our core values to inspire our Mandala creations.

The process of creating my mandala
In creating my mandala, I was inspired by my core values and the process of growing as a person by breaking out of my shell. As part of my journey, I gradually learned to love myself again and develop my inner potential. My hardest challenge in creating this mandala was the centerpiece. I desired a way to genuinely express myself. The initial idea was to portray my growth as a person and my self-development throughout my life when I first came to the U.S. It was such an impactful moment that it felt important to reflect that in my mandala. Yet, I was able to generate a couple ideas that I used to create my final design.
I was glad that many of my friends appreciated the design of my mandala, but I felt that there was too much negative space. I thought that it was better to have more details than open spaces in my mandala. In the end, I think everything turned out just fine. I’m happy with my centerpiece and the design. I’m proud that I did it. It was an experience, and now I get to keep it and show it to my family or put it in my room. What I appreciate about mandalas is that no two are alike; each one is unique. Especially for this specific project, where everyone was trying to show pieces of themselves and what they love or do. Each mandala is able to reflect oneself.
