Portfolio

Introduction

Hi, my name is Kyhara Crespin, I’m a Design student here at Freestyle Academy, and welcome to my Portfolio page! I have picked three of my best work I have produced throughout this year. I have put a lot of work into these three projects and I’m really happy with the outcome, and I hope you can enjoy!

Zenith

For my Zenith project, I decided to explore an idea that is more flexible, hands-on, and something I had never done before. I have always been intrigued by crocheting and the number of possibilities that can be created. This is why I chose to crochet multiple animals for my friends and family as my Zenith project. I have seen many people crocheting animals, bags, accessories, clothes, etc and I find that genuinely amazing. This particular project has become a passion of mine because I noticed that crocheting can expand people’s creativity in an exciting way.

This is my moodboard, it’s where I place images that I use as inspiration, colors that I will planning on incorporating in my project, and a short summary of what my idea for my Zenith project.

Here are the quick sketches that I drew with a few notes (on what yarn, color, and other materials I would need to use) before I started crocheting.

After I finished with my sketches, getting my materials from Michael’s, and praciticing the different stitches, I started to crochet my animals, take a look at my progress!

Soon, after long and stressful weeks later, I finished crocheting four of my animals, look how cute they are!

Loogo Design

For this project, each student had to choose a product to design a logo and create a labelt to. I picked sunscreen as my product. IncaSkin (the name of my brand) is a sunscreen brand with the purpose of protecting people from the harmful rays of the sun. I wanted to design a logo and a label for a sunscreen product because I believe that wearing sunscreen is important for everyone. Many of the sunscreen products I see in my local store, the label designs are overflowing with a lot of information and the design is not something you can appreciate. This is why I wanted to go for a minimalistic design for my product.

Here is my moodboard for my product logo design project. I have gathered multiple photos of what I was going to use as inspiration and I added the colors I was hoping to use in my final logo design.

Here I have the sketches I drew in my sketchbook for my label design (on the left side) and I had sketched multiple logo design ideas (on the right side). I couldn’t decide which logo design to use!

Finally, after placing my sketches in Adobe Illustrator to digitalize my ideas, I ended up with my final label and logo design. I also added my label and logo design into the product I picked, sunscreen. Take a look, I really love the nd product, it looks like an actual sunscreen!

Movie Poster

During our World Building unit, I designed a movie poster based on the worldbuilding narrative treatment assignment that I collaborated with two partners (Lindsey P. and Jacqueline L.).

The story that I collaborated with other Freestyle seniors was about a 30-year-old man who discovers that he is the murderer of a well-known scientist and must unlock the secrets of his past life to survive the revenge of the scientist’s younger brother. Our protagonist has two identities. In his past identity, he was a criminal leader of Crim (group of criminals). However, after being brainwashed and relocated by the government, he gains an identity as a lonely office worker.

This is the moodboard I created before making my movie poster, I added other movie posters I thought fit the story that my group and I created and I included dark muted colors for that thrilling feel I was going for. One thing that did change was the font, I ended up using a different font if you compare my moodboard and my movie poster!

Here is the final design of my movie poster for the Worldbuilding unit. During this project, there were several times where I changed my ideas and it was difficult to settle down on one, but I’m glad it turned out like this!
