About Me

Hi! My name is Lindsay McKinley, and I am a Mountain View High School student in the Design elective at Freestyle Academy. I’m a highly motivated student and creator, always striving to do my best in whatever I’m doing. When I was younger, I attended a few of the Freestyle Academy showcases, and was immediately fascinated by the program. I’ve been looking forward to being a student here since middle school and I’m thrilled to be a part of it today. Creating art has always been a big part of my life and I’m very excited to have the opportunity to express myself through it while at Freestyle!

Outside of school and Freestyle, I’m an active member of my community and participant in a multitude of extracurricular activities. I’ve been in Girl Scouts since kindergarten, and currently serve in the leadership team of my troop. Over the summer, I worked with younger kids as a Counselor-In-Training at a Girl Scout Camp. I love spending time in nature, although my seasonal allergies might tend to disagree. I’m a member of the Theatre Club at school and have performed in multiple plays and musicals through MVHS Theatre as well as in various other youth community theatre productions. I play the flute and love both listening to and playing my own music.

Being in Freestyle for the past two has truly been the highlight of my high school career. The opportunities I’ve had here are unparalleled to any past experiences. I’ve been able to build a solid foundation in an array of complex skills and have grown immensely as an artist and creator. In my time here, Freestyle has given me a much better sense of the direction that I want to take my life. I’m confident that I’ll be prepared for my future educational and occupational opportunities.
