Like an overexposed camera, the future in all its possibilities can feel overwhelming. But hope can still endure. I have hope that there will be instruments to make life interesting. I hope that there will be a place to sit down and rest. I hope that a gentle breeze comes by once in a while to push me whichever direction. I hope a light stays alongside me, waiting to be turned on. And I hope that a window stays uncovered, open to the scenery beyond. Life can be observed, and life can be lived. That flat, blown-out white is a canvas. And art is exactly what I’m in the mood for.

There's always a seemingly endless supply on my family's dining table. Bananas were always the convenient food, the available food, and of course, one of the most delicious snacks.

As the years passed and he lost the cognitive and physical ability to use them, they’re in my care now. Resting on a shelf he assembled, on books he owned, his legacy and knowledge live on through me.

I achieved this by placing the “evil” jack o' lantern pot in the foreground. It appeared larger and imposing, despite only being about half the size of the other pot in reality.
