For this blog, we were asked to take the same photo twice: one with the automatic white balance, and one with a creative white balance. I took the first photo in the evening, with a red-colored flashlight pointing towards my dog’s face. I then put this photo into Lightroom, where altered the white balance using the color picker. I selected the white/light hair areas with the color picker. This took the white-ish color of the hair and altered the image colors until the selected point was a true white, instead of a tinted reddish color, resulting in the blue-green colors in the second image. I chose this white balance because I liked how the teal fur contrasts and complements the orange.
