Audio Productions

One of my favorite series of assignments in Digital Media was creating music. Although I’m not a musician myself, it is extremely important to me and I am constantly listening to it throughout the day. It really sets the mood. Nonetheless, through programs like Pro Tools and Reason, we were able to create our own experimental music production and learn the various virtual instruments within the programs.

Experimental Song I created

I had a lot of different inspirations for my experimental song and at first I was really settled on creating something in the EDM genre but I found a sound I liked and eventually just went with it because I’m pretty indecisive as it already is. In specific, one song I drew a bit of inspiration from, in terms of the beat, is the song “Passionfruit” by Drake. It has a similar sort of vibe to it from the drums and instruments being used. It kind of reminded me of traveling on a safari or somewhere through the saharan for some reason so that also gave me inspiration for my album art. In the end, I’m simply just proud I made something, although not super complex and to the point where I would ultimately want it, but still something that I think is cool and unique. Music is super valuable to me and with this newfound understanding of Virtual Instruments I’m going to try and dive into some sort of music production stuff over the summer if I can. Hopefully I’ll come up with some pretty sweet beats!
