Using Props

Through a Lens

This week our challenge was trick photography, using props. The prop that I chose to use was a 50mm camera lens. Rather than just taking a photo of the sunset with the 18-55mm lens that I had on, I placed the front end of the 50mm lens in front of my camera. Due to the way that camera lenses work and the laws of physics etc, the image is flipped. I was honestly really surprised the way the color and detail was maintained through the lens. I thought it would be super blurry and you wouldn’t really be able to make out what I was taking a photo of, but it turned out really well. Honestly one of my favorite photos. I should use props more often.
