Hi! My name is Saanika, and I was a first-year senior at Freestyle from 2023-2024.
I like to do all kinds of visual art, and I was admitted to Ringling College of Art and Design for Computer Animation! Some of my core values are honesty, creative freedom, and collaboration.
I like art, D&D, world/character writing, and listening to podcasts. In my free time during high school, I was usually working on art to build my college portfolio, or working on building a story I started at the tail end of sophomore year. I also played D&D whenever scheduling worked out (which was unfortunately rare).
During senior year, I hoped to create some animation portfolio pieces for college, and create some work that I was proud of. I also hoped I could meet other people passionate about art and/or animation that I could connect with.
I’m really proud of the work that I made here. Freestyle helped me learn skills that I never would have dared try on my own, like how to use After Effects and Maya. I also met a ton of amazing people, and I feel like my social circle has grown a lot. Overall, I’m incredibly grateful to be given a chance to join this program, and I’m so glad I chose to sign up. I can’t wait to use the skills I learned for projects in the future!
