pot of boiling water
ISO:5000 Aperture:5 Shutter Speed:1/100

Today, I made mac and cheese for lunch. I find it fun to watch the water boil and warm my hands in the steam so I decided to take a photo of the pot for this prompt.

The Elements

stone ground and puddles
ISO: 250 Aperture: 5.375 Shutter Speed: 1/512

I chose the elements earth and rain. It was raining today so I took a picture of the concrete outside and the puddles. I liked how the grooves in the stones hold the water and reflect the light.

Who Inspires You?

Bookshelf
ISO:100 Shutter speed:1/30 Aperture:4

For this prompt, I wanted to show the person who inspired my love of reading. In middle school, my grandpa gave me the Throne of Glass series. He gave me them one at a time each with a note inside. So each time I finished one, I could talk to him about how the story had progressed and he would give me the next one.

For this photo, I wanted to show how the microwave reflects light. You can see streaks of light in the border, the reflections on the buttons, and myself taking the photo.

Exit

Door slightly open leading into a bedroom
Aperture:4, ISO:100 Shutter speed:1/8

The prompt this week was exit so to show this, I took a picture of a door. This was my brother’s room but he moved out to go to college so I thought this was fitting for the prompt “Every exit is an entry to somewhere else.”

sky, trees, and rooftops.
ISO:100, Aperture:8, Shutter speed:1/100

For this prompt, I decided to lie about the time. I took the bottom photo and then edited it to look like night time. I did this by first adjusting brightness, then using the paintbrush tool and applying an overlay layer to darken the sky.

Serenity

ISO: 6,400, Aperture:5, Shutter speed: 1/500

My happy place is this corner of my room where I do all my art. Crocheting and drawing are how I relax and get my mind off of things so this is what I chose to show for the prompt, serenity.
