Elements: Earth

F5 ISO: 6,400 1/64 Lens: 18-55mm

For the elements prompt, I photographed some of the rocks, fossils, and crystals I have on my bookshelf. I thought the variety properly represented the element of Earth as a whole, from plain rocks, to preserved fossils and shiny crystals. It was fun to rearrange my collection to get a photo with a pleasing composition and go back to appreciate each one. It was someone hard to photograph because of the reflection of the pyrite in the back and the dark lighting. But I was able to change settings on the camera and use a screen layer on photoshop to lighten the scene and make everything easier to see.
