Photo Blog Week 4 – Warmth

The challenge of this week was to tell a story of Warmth. Back when I was around 7, my dad loved to read me books. One day, he brought a book that would challenge me academically to read on my own: Lord of the Rings. We read this story over months and I eventually fell in love with the world Tolkien created. Once I finished the book, he let me keep it as a memento, and shared with me the movies that were made based off of it. To his surprise, in a single day, I sat through 2 extended edition movies totaling up to around 7 hours and 30 minutes. I was in love with Lord of the Rings and to this day I remember fondly the time as a kid I was able to read this with my dad. Now every month or so I watch at least one of the movies. The heartwarming atmosphere of the fresh land of the Shire combined with the memories of sitting on my dad’s lap as I tried to understand how to pronounce the word “Mordor” and “Gandalf” gives me such a warm feeling. And to this day I recommend to anyone to go out and read this book and if you can; watch the hours of footage the movie was able to take of New Zealand, and the hours of the behind the scenes. It’s an amazing heartwarming experience
