About Me!

Hello! My name is Alayna Lee and I graduated from Mountain View High School and was a Design student at Freestyle Academy :)) Just another one of your local artists trying their best to bring some more creativity into daily life!

The initial reason I wanted to join Freestyle Academy was that I wanted to have that chance to learn more about different forms of art, and I thought Freestyle Academy would help me do that. I heard about so much positivity from Freestyle Academy students I’ve talked to in the past so I thought I would try it out! From Freestyle Academy, I learned to value art more as a whole; I realize that art is so much more than just “drawing what I want.” I know now that I have the ability to bring my art to a whole new level with each piece being able to have its own interpretive meaning behind it. Additionally, I found that Freestyle Academy allowed me to experience my art journey with a safe haven of peers and teachers that are there to appreciate my art as an actual art piece and not just a piece of paper. It’s an expression of me, and I feel am still so grateful to have been a student at Freestyle Academy.

I have a lot of positive feelings about Freestyle. In a lot of ways, I felt really excited to work on major projects like the Zenith Project and the Mandala Project. But in other ways, yeah, there are downsides. Like the amount of work became a lot to handle because of my personal stress and issues, and still having to go to school haha. However, if I were between the choice of doing normal classes at Mountain View High School and Freestyle Academy again, I would choose Freestyle. I love the community that we were able to grow for senior PM students and I really love the kindness everybody has shared with each other and the collaborative work we got to work on. I honestly wish there were more and nobody was scared to actually talk in the classrooms. Talking to the other artists around me was my favorite part. Finally, I think my work at Freestyle was able to help me into a really amazing college. I think that with the help they provided in finishing my art portfolio, I was actually able to have an opportunity like this. All the memories, all the fun projects, I owe it all to Freestyle. To any sophomores thinking about joining Freestyle Academy, I say you should do it!

Anyway, that’s enough from me. I appreciate you for viewing my page, and I hope you enjoy your stay here. Thanks for reading ♡
