Viewpoint

The theme was viewpoint, asking us to shoot this from the viewpoint of another person in order to create interest. I portrayed the attention my dog displays when shown one of his favorite toys, adjusting the color levels in order to replicate what he’d see since dogs are red-green colorblind.

Film Noir

This week, the goal was to use the classic film noir aesthetic to tell a story. I wanted to use lighting to frame the subject in an interesting way and create high contrast. The subject in this piece is under stress, observing in paranoia as if they were being chased.

Color Theory

For this week’s challenge, we had to use color adjustment to create movie-like pictures. I wanted to create a warm and dramatic scene by using color grading while enhancing my dog’s presence in the scene.

Modern Convenience

For this challenge, we had to create an advertisement of our favorite modern convenience. I quickly asked my brother to pose while in a gaming session on the Big Boi Gamer PC to add to the authentic entertainment experience, and slapped some text simulating old badly designed gaming magazines.

The Elements

For this week, the theme was the elements: Earth, Fire, Wind, Rain, and Spirit. I chose to work with earth, but the looseness of the picture could also tie into the wind.

Rule of Odds

For this challenge, we had to use the rule of odds in architecture. I went outside and framed the roof of a building using three elements as the focus: the two sets of pillars and a lantern.

Seasons

This week’s theme was the seasons! I decided to portray Fall with the fiery red leaves accumulated in my backyard, using focus to create a blurred composition where the leaves blend into one another.

Gratitude

In light of Thanksgiving coming up soon, this week was centered around gratitude. One of the many things I’m thankful for is my family still sticking together and having fun even during the pandemic. (It goes without saying that we always stay safe!)
