Trash
We were challenged to use trash as our inspiration. I decided to take a picture of a trash can in front of flowers to make it seem like they are growing from within it and play with the contrast between the saturation of the flowers and the muted tones of the can.
Black and White
We were allowed to take a black and white picture of any subject we wanted; When I went to the Petersen Automotive Museum in LA, I couldn’t help but notice this huge terminator statue’s contrasting values.
Weight or Mass
Our challenge was to use weight or mass as inspiration for a picture, so I decided to shoot an image of the bell I have hanging outside of my house. It moves really easily with the wind and has this spiritual lightness to it.
Mood
We were tasked with taking a picture that represented our mood. On that day, I hung out with a new friend and it felt like a new door being opened. I had a great time and it all felt surreal, so I changed the colors to be more dreamlike.
