The prompt for this photo was “color theory”. In design class, we often make color palettes for our projects. I decided to use that facet of color theory for this photograph. I wanted to create a warm, analogous color palette, so I decided to photograph produce. In my kitchen, I found a few warm colored items and arranged them into the scene. After taking the photo, I put it into Photoshop to improve how the colors of the photograph are portrayed. The most significant thing I did was using a photo filter masked only to the background to make it cooler. I did this so that the very warm-colored items would stand out and contrast from the background. I sometimes struggle with creating contrast in my artworks, so this was good practice.
