Rule of Thirds Motion

A landscape photo of a cat walking. The cat is black and on the left side of the photo. It has light green eyes, a white stipe on its face, a white chest, and white paws. The cat is taking one step forward. In front of it is a light pink slipper

The prompt for this photo was “Rule of Thirds Motion” We had to take a picture that showed motion, while also using the rule of thirds for composition. I decided to photograph the motioin of my cat walking. When taking the picture, I tried to frame her in the upper right corner, and have a slipper in the foreground in the lower left corner. Because I was photgraphing an animal, I couldn’t just tell her what to do. I had to call her over repeatedly until I got the perfect shot. I was able to capture her in between steps, and I think I captured the motion of her placing her paw in front of her quite well. My other challenge was the lighting, since I took this photo in the evening. The original was incredibly dark, so I used the screen blend mode in Photoshop to brighten it up.
